The summer of 2009 has shown us many new adventures and numerous accomplishments that we have to share. First, the opening of Jon Hall's YouTube channel which features many tutorials on video and audio editing, as well as some Photoshop and Illustrator Tutorials. Any new designers are welcome to view them and comment if they have anything to add to the videos.

Also, JDH ideas has been selected again as a recipient of an Award of Excellence from Graphic Design USA Magazine and an Honorable Mention from the Marketing and Communications Awards Competition, an international design competition,  for the Mike Clark Legacy Foundation logo. The logo design, in its infancy, went through a variety of stages, some great, some bad, where the logo was being developed by Jon Hall and the great people at the Mike Clark Legacy Foundation. Through much deliberation and, eventually finding a common ground, the Mike Clark Legacy Foundation logo was created and has been the iconic reminder that the goal of the MCLF is the support the community, youth education, and youth athleticism throughout the Delaware and surrounding areas. As a partner with the Delaware Community Foundation, the MCLF strives to secure a place in the landscape of non-profit organizations.

AGDA 2009 MarCom Award 2009

In addition to winning awards and publishing videos, JDH Ideas has been busy creating a website for Specialized Security Response, Inc (SSR). SSR continues to be a leading company in the security and protection fields in the greater Pittsburgh area. As a company that provides both private and commercial protection, SSR has contributed their services to political figures and stars of the silver screen. In the coming month, they will assist the Secret Service and other companies in the security for the Pittsburgh G-20 summit. JDH Ideas has been asked to provide the website design and marketing materials to create their online G-20 presence. Their website says it all.

Specialized Security Response Website

March - April | 2009
2009 has brought us tons of new work and even more fun times with our business partners and friends. Recently, we have been working with Merc Creative on the LIMA Audio website. LIMA Audio has created some the most recognizable video game sounds and music that you know today. From 007 Nightfire to Doom3 to Brothers In Arms, LIMA Audio is on the forefront of creating music for the most popular video games. We have worked on their website design with Merc Creative to create a simple and elegant design suited for their needs. Be sure to check them out as soon as you can. They're portfolio is growing, so check back often.

We have also been busy doing things that we haven't done in awhile, updating our self-promotion materials. As a part of the new year, we have been busy making ourselves known throughout the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Some of our new self promo materials can be seen here. We like 'em, and they encouraged us to read more, instead of our typical blogs and news stories.

JDH Ideas Marketing Materials

2009 - First Day
As we bring in the new year with new projects, new clients, and new ideas, I want to recap on what we completed in 2008. The Jenny Wheeler project has been a huge success since the website has gone live. Both myself and Jenny continue to receive nothing but praise regarding the site. Keep in mind, her site is constantly growing due to new songs being released, new shows and tours, and a new blog that is soon to come. Visit Jenny Wheeler online to experience her musical presence for yourself.

Some of our most profitable clients market the products that everyone seems to need. Food. Everyone needs to eat, right? Bubba's HomeBaked opened their new online store to the publlic in late November and they have never looked back. The family owned business came to JDH Ideas in conjunction with Dan Domski Design to create a new experience for visitors. As Dan Domski Design handled most of the back-end of the website and page content, we handled the graphic layout and formed a strong continuity of graphic elements for the site. Upon visiting Bubba's HomeBaked, one will find the site to be like many other bakery sites, except that this one goes the extra mile to make sure you feel right at home. With an informative blog hosted by the family themselves, valuable information comes pouring out of their baking fingers. They are always willing to help you find something that can satisfy your sweet tooth, and they usually have fun questions or surveys that everyone can be respond to. They're most recent entry was, "What nicknames do you have for your grandmother, and did that name come from a cultural context?" Feel free to stop by their home and enjoy a roll or two, or three.

One of our last major projects included updating information and working with the Mike Clark Legacy Foundation (MCLF). Last year, an avid cyclist and Boys and Girls Club of Delaware employee died suddenly of organ failure. Once the life of the party, Mike Clark had passed away unexpectedly. Now, the non-profit organization (MCLF) continues Mike Clark's work by contributing money and donations to children and families of the Delaware area through many athletic events they sponsor around the Wilmington Delaware area. The Conquer the Hills Race continues to be one of their key events that everyone enjoys. The 2009 race event can only be better. Keep up to date with the information to join a race or help donate to the families in need. IM 4 MIKES KIDS!
