Developed as an advertising campaign for IADT, recruiters passed out these 1/16" thick cardboard flyers to potential students at college fairs and marketing trips. Potential students could use these coaster/flyers as a catalyst to begin their future as a student at IADT.

We used the abstract glassworks of Dale Chihuly as the basis for the 2007 IADT Student Portfolio Show program. The idea arose when the senior Graphic Design students visited the Dale Chihuly installation at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh that year. The organic colorful shapes interact well with the mechanical type treatment, creating a great contrast of shape and visual flow.

This 6-foot wide poster for the July 2007 Student Picnic features colorful ants marching towards their picnic destination. I used the classic image of the Partridge Family birds as a subtle hint to the family style picnic. Along with this poster, I posted cutout ants around the school to spark student interest.

This CD Cover for Jenny Wheeler reflects her organic and complex type of music. Using earth tone colors, the CD cover is simple and complex at the same time. Simple colors give way to complex uses of ornamentation and typography. Everything presented looks like the artist could have personally written the content.

Originally designed for a free small publication, 'Pittsburgh Flavor Magazine', these mock ads were meant to exemplify the wide variety of flavors integrated with Pittsburgh area restaurants. These ads never made it to press due to budget reasons, but reflect the simple, yet strong tones the magazine had with the public.

Working with Park Triangle Productions from the District of Columbia, we created this mock newspaper for a movie being filmed in Pittsburgh titled, Finding Harmony. I wanted this newspaper to look and feel authentic, so I printed it on newsprint and wrote all of the articles as they would appear in a genuine newspaper.

This simple and elegant presentation packet created for Ivy House, Lily Cottage, and Rose Cottage Condominiums in Sewickly, Pa. was individually designed for each of the 24 condominiums. The packet included floor plans, lists of amenities, price sheets, and furniture cutouts so buyers could pre-visualize their new home.

The Get Moving program, by UPMC Hospitals, was established to assist hospital employees to live better by increasing their level of activity and changing their diets through simple daily activities. As lead designer, I created special pedometers, whistles, clipboards, posters, T-shirts, pledge cards, and table tents.

Working with other designers from the UPMC Corporate Communications department, I created this Lecture Series brochure for the intended medical staff of UPMC hospitals. A simple but effective design, the brochure design became a staple for years to come.

Created for the 2003 Edinboro Student Art Show, this massive poster is 9 feet by 5 feet at full size. To express the sense of urgency and desire to attend the show, my colleague and I scanned our bodies with the information written on our face and hand with Sharpie marker. The art show was a huge success.

Published in Dialogue Magazine, this Edinboro University of Pennsylvania MA/MFA ad presented Edinboro as both a traditional school and one that pushed new technology. The Edinboro mascot, the Bagpipe Tartan, is digitized and placed in the background to promote technological advancements in the program while also presenting traditional degrees being offered.

Using the curvature of the Five Spheres logo, this brochure reflects the dynamic elements of the logo that attract attention. Being a simple layout, the message is delivered promptly while retaining the audiences attention.
